We’re back after a much needed hiatus/holiday/vacation.    In the upcoming weeks I am planning on writing about how I feel about Pink Lego, debuting a new column about the jobs kids dream of having and getting back to reviewing comic books for Funny Book Fridays.

2011 was a fantastic year for Parenting Geekly!  We were nominated for the best Parenting Blog in Washington and came in third!  I was a guest panelist at the first ever Geek Girl Con, I got to visit NASA and try my hand on their fancy pants simulators, I helped create and now sit on the Parents Committee for the Seattle International Film Festival, and I met Elmo.  I’ve also gotten the opportunity to meet a lot of readers, and I’m always so humbled and honored when I get to speak with someone who follows the blog.

Here’s to an even better 2012!   Excelsior!

Today and every day I am thankful for the support you have shown Parenting Geekly. When I started this blog (on a whim after talking to a dad in a comic shop) I had no idea that I would find such a great community of like-minded parents. I have enjoyed sharing with you the ups and downs of parenting Nate and Kitty, sharing the geeky products I find, and hearing about all of the cool things you and your awesome families are doing. So from my family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving.
