Cranes for Japan

Cranes for Japan

My local neighborhood blog,  has a great story about my some kids at my son’s elementary school making paper cranes to support rebuilding efforts after the Japanese earthquake/tsunami.  The cranes project is through Students Rebuild, and will be part of a permanent art installation in Japan.  Each crane donated was matched with $2 from the Bezos Family Foundation and the Whittier kids helped raise over $3,000!

The article talks a little bit about how the students were directly affected by the Japan disaster and is worth a read.

Well done third graders (and a shout out to Ms. Kennedy, Nate’s teacher last year and one of his favorites ever)!
